Hey, I'm new here on this site, so if you don't recognize me, that's why.
My name is Manix Daelin, and that is also my real life name, too. ((Its Greek...)) I've many issues about vampiric history. I myself am one, but I am often ranted and raved at about faking it. One side is saying I'm fake cause vampires don't drink blood, they just get psi energy. Another says I must be a Sang, probably closest to the truth. And yet another says I'm faking it because my head has been filled by too much Anne Rice. So I may or may not be your description as a "true" vampire, but I really don't know what "true" is anymore.
I'm not immortal, I know that. I can be hurt, I can get sick, I can break bones. I do take blood, but that is from willing donors, or perhaps an unsuspecting girl in a bar, and then I only take a little, enough to sustain. I am nineteen years old, go to college like everyone else, and live alone, except for my little sister. In fact, the sun doesn't burn me to a crisp, as in superstition, but it hurts my eyes and irritates my skin, and that is why I go to a night college, to escape that. I love garlic, especially garlic bread and spaghetti, and I find it quite interesting to touch and stare at crucifixes. I don't sleep in a coffin, but in a very comfortable bed in a small, cozy room.
Anyways, that is my life as a vampire. I face criticism from some of my closest friends, who think I pull an act about it. I have many, many enemies, especially a girl who keeps on insisting she's a vampire slayer and lives a couple of blocks from my house.
Perhaps there's more than one "breed" or "species" of vampires. Perhaps there are some who are Psi, the energy-drinkers, and Sangs, and maybe, perhaps, even Anne Rice-type vampires. Perhaps there are some who don't know their vampires yet, and "awaken" at a certain age, which is a popular belief. And perhaps there are some who do burn in sunlight, who do hate crucifixes and sleep in coffins. Will we ever know?
For now, that's my side of the story.
